Comment
In the 20s, Collioure (city in the south of France) became the home port of the painter Henri Martin. He set up his easel in various parts of the town. Here the beach Saint-Vincent, one of his favorites for the reflections of the sky on the Mediterranean shore, the contrasts of colors of the vast panorama extending to the Pyrenees mountains.
A friend of the Neo-Impressionists, Henri Martin mastered pointillism to perfection: the water seems to shimmer as the sun delicately caresses the facades... Several of his views of Collioure are today in museums. This one is remarkable for its large size and this golden-brown light.
