Ami proche de Seurat, très apprécié de Fénéon, Dubois-Pillet adopte très tôt la technique pointilliste et rejoint le groupe néo-impressionniste. D'un divisionnisme strict avec rigueur et sobriété, c'est un pointilliste précieux, attentif aux effets d'ambiance. Décédé prématurément à l'âge de 44 ans, ses œuvres sont rares.

A close friend of Seurat, much appreciated by Fénéon, Dubois-Pillet adopted the pointillist technique very early on and joined the neo-impressionist group. As a strict divisionism with rigor and sobriety, he is a precious pointillist, attentive to the effects of the atmosphere. Died prematurely at the age of 44, his works are rare.
