Printmaker and painter, this artist was born in Prussian Silesia .  In 1930 he moved to Dresden and in 1936 he travels to Czechoslovaki, Switzerland, Austria, France and Belgium.  with his young wife, they fled the Nazi regime in 1937, settling in Paris where he became a French citizen in 1950. 

Etching was Friedlander's main medium of expression .  A retrospective of his work was mounted in the Bremen Art Museum in 1987 and on his birthday a retrospective was mounted in Bonn.

The artwork has expensive fabric matting  which is in perfect condition.  The gold frame is of good quality.
