Spartan citizens, men or women, are the pioneers of two very important philosophies: 1) The ultimate faith in the human body as a symbol of the most beautiful creation by God. 2) Human freedom. Of course, those ideas arose much earlier in time. However, they gained a bigger momentum during the Ancient Spartans. As a small nation in their region, the Spartan’s were always under attack by bigger nations. Hence, they took serious measures to shape and mold their youth from a very early age to live a free and beautiful life – one that they believed was their birthright. These fundaments have motivated Artist Hovik Kochinian to create a series of artworks with his unique style dedicated to visibly depicting these great philosophies originated by the Ancient Spartans.
