After New York, the art market majors are preparing their prestige sales in Hong Hong, one of the world’s most dynamic art marketplaces. Between 28 and 31 May 2016, Poly Auction, Bonhams, China Guardian, Sotheby’s and Christie’s will be dispersing hundreds of Asian artworks in the city.

The Chinese artists who arrived in Europe after WWII to “modernize” their traditional painting count among the major signatures in Post-War Western art.

In the first week of April, Sotheby’s, global no. 2 and Poly, global no. 3 (established in Hong Kong since 2012) held a series of major sales devoted to Modern and Contemporary Asian art. The sales featured lots of works by charismatic artists whose prices are still on an ascending path. Below, some of the highlights of the two days of sales entirely dedicated to Asian art.
