Comments: Weld traveled in the United States (from New York to Virginia) and Canada during the years 1795-97 and published an account of his experiences in 1799, illustrated with engravings after his own sketches. In 1807 his Illustrations of the Scenery of Killarney, appeared. Most of his life was spent in Dublin, where he was prominent in the Royal Dublin Society, though in his later years he spent much time in Rome.
