Art Asia 2018 Introduction



Art Asia 2018 seeks to create a single united art platform that is unique, by gathering art fairs that represent Asia.

With various art fairs from different countries representing Asia, and media art, with music collaboration and Art Universiade along with high ended exhibitions, Art Asia 2018 will be the biggest multi-cultural festival of the year in Korea.

  • ART ASIA 2018 is an art fair with new concept, where participating parties is expanded from gallery unit to art fair organization from each countries from Asian-Pacific region.

  • Art is not difficult. ART ASIA 2018 provide diverse way to encounter with contemporary art by adding public taste for the general public.

  1. ART UNIVERSIADE

  • India's Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara , Taiwan's National Taiwan University of Arts, China's Central Academy of Fine Arts and other Asia's major university students will exhibit their artworks

  • Forming a new platform of communication and exchange through collaboration project

  1. A STAGE

  • Each evening during the fair period, special themed contemporary art and K-POP collaboration concert will be held

  • New form of art conversation in harmony between contemporary art and K-POP

  • Kim Hyungsuk's direction as general producer/Koh Sangwoo, Alan Chan as participating artist

  1. A STUDIO

  • Special booth will be created as if the ateliers of young artists from different genre background have been moved to the fair venue

  • Seek to provide an opportunity for the general public to understand contemporary art and its technique

[ART ASIA'S MAIN SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS]

  1. The Expansion of Boundaries: KOH Sangwoo, BAE Chanhyo, Jin MEYERSON, Oscar OIWA, KWON Daehun

  • Special Exhibition of 5 talented artists with Asian origin and actively working on a global scale. We seek to provide the opportunity to interpret the various boundaries in our life- whether it be a country or a culture, or an individual's subjectivity.

  1. Blue India - Special Exhibition of emerging Indian Artists

  • Special Exhibition where the works of 5 talented and emerging artists as RAJ MORE, SHAIK AZGHAR ALI, BINOY VARGHESE and others are showcased, to emphasize the diversity of Asian contemporary art and to promote new and young artists.

[ART ASIA PARTICIPATING ART FAIR]

  1. Art Kaohsiung & Art Formosa: Art Kaohsiung, Art Formosa's 6th edition takes place in 2018. Contributed to development of southern Taiwan's art market and exhibition industry since 2013.

  2. Jaipur Art Summit: Jaipur Art Summit is India's art fair based on Jaipur City. Their objective is to provide revolutionary and innovative platform for young artists and to form cooperative relationship with other countries for cultural exchange.

  3. Art Vancouver: Art Vancouver is an international art fair that takes place at Vancouver Convention Center since 2014. Artists and galleries from different countries participate in the exhibition through Art Vancouver.

  4. ART EDITION: Art Edition is Korea's one and only print and edition work specialized art fair. Artworks including print, photography, video and sculpture, all form of artworks with edition are exhibited.

  5. SPOON ART SHOW: In Spoon Art Show, wide range of artist from those who represent Korea to those new emerging artists all participate. Through Pick & Match system, it is an art and cultural platform to discover and enjoy the young artists' solo exhibition.
