Comments: He came to America with his parents in 1830 and settled in Ohio. In 1832 he entered the office of the NYC architect Martin E. Thompson. About 1838 he drew and lithographed a view of Reading (PA). He eventually moved to New Orleans and worked for the U.S. Treasury Department in various positions. A talented sketch artist, he made drawings of the progress and changes in the building of the Custom House and of scenes around the city and illustrated his N.O. diary, 1853-62.
